You may also go for a 2 nights stay and acces to the Golf Pass at a price of EUR 120 per person (low season fare) - and reserve 3 courses, at the various partner golf clubs located between 15 and 80 km from the Abbaye (Pont Royal, Servanes, Grand Avignon, les Baux de Provence, Sainte-Baume, Chateau de l'Arc...) .

As well as being Nostradamus' home town, Salon can also boast the Chateau de l'Emperi, formerly the residence of the Archbishops of Arles and now a very famous museum showing weapons and outfits dating from the time of Louis XIV right up to the Great War. This holyday offers an opportunity to travel between Nostradamus' house, the Chateau de l'Emperi and the musee Grevin which here in Salon is dedicated to the history and legends of Provence. Salon also has all the charm of a typical Provencal small town with its Wednesday morning market, its courtyards lined with plane trees and its fountains, including the famous foaming fountain.

Lovers of fine wines take note: Provence is now bursting with wines from appellations which are every bit as good as those found in certain other regions which admittedly used to have more of a reputation for this kind of thing. Nowadays it is the cellars of the Domaine de Terres Blanches in the Alpilles region, which the INAO granted appellation status in 1995, and those of Chateau Bas, one of the most famous Coteaux d'Aix, which take pride of place with a tour available by appointment and a tasting based around a 'grignotage' (which roughly translates as 'nibbles') featuring some of the local produce.
